第７回 オープンキャンパス模擬授業報告

８月５日（土）に開催されたオープンキャンパスの体験授業では、本学ネイティブ・スピーカーのプラザ先生とモリス先生が、“AAA” (answer, add, ask)ストラテジーを使った授業を行いました。以下はモリス先生の模擬授業レポートです。“AAA”をヒントに読んでみましょう。
Open Campus 5th August 2017
The Komazawa Women’s University ENGLISH COMMUNICATION STUDIES held their seventh open campus event of the 2017 academic year on Saturday 5th August. Eleven students took part, accompanied by their family members. After an explanation of the different classes and opportunities on offer in our course, we moved onto the demonstration class.
The title of the demonstration class was ‘Let’s Talk!’ It was designed to give the students an opportunity to use the English they have learned in high school and develop their conversation skills. The teachers, Taron Plaza and Jon Morris, introduced the “AAA” (answer, add, ask) conversation strategy. The students then tried it with questions such as: “What kind of music do you like?” First they answered the question, then they added some extra information, then they asked a follow up question.
Using the AAA strategy, the students discussed the question: “What do you want to do in the summer vacation?” Then they made an interesting plan for the summer vacation in groups, and finally explained it to other groups. This was a very active class, and all the students did a great job taking part. We hope to see them all again at a future open campus event.
